Healing Practitioners and Business Owners

You didn’t get into business to talk about the work you do.

You got into business to do the work you are here to do.

Your sessions are magical, so why does marketing feel sticky and icky?

Your brain rattles with thoughts like . . .

  • I know my work changes lives… so why is it so hard to talk about it?

  • If I show up more, I’ll say the wrong thing. People will get mad at me.

  • Who am I to do this? Am I even allowed to take up space?

  • With everything going on in the world, are my offers meaningless right now?

  • I want more clients, but posting, networking and “touch-backs” make me wanna crawl in a hole.

  • Why can’t I just post online? What’s wrong with me?! So many other people do this easily! I’m impressed and I secretly kind of despise their success.

  • I want a sustainable practice, but I don’t want to boss-babe to get there. It feels hopeless.

  • I want more clients, but my systems to invite them in feel wobbly and if I’m honest, I don’t know if my nervous system can hold the growth…

  • I’ve been burned before in business and healing spaces, and I don’t know who I can trust.

I won’t lie—(sh)it‘s hard right now in biz world and the real world.

The business landscape has changed, and your nervous system has probably changed with it.

Most business owners and healing practitioners I know are on the verge of burnout.

Clients are showing up with unsolvable problems, like the weight of the collective polycrises.

It’s harder to keep up and cut through the noise with our e-mails, posts and threads.

And it can feel like we’re failing when our offers don’t fill (even though we are not to blame).

I can’t promise Safe To Be Seen will solve any of the unsolvable problems in the world.

But it will help you adapt to the current times, so you can show up in ways that feel aligned with your brain, body and values and keep getting booked and paid for the work you love to do.

Take me, for example.

In 2025, my signature training, Trauma-Informed Foundations, wasn’t filling.

Like, wasn’t filling to the point I said:

“I think I need to cancel Foundations!”

Long story medium, I didn’t cancel.

I decided to pivot, and I pivoted hard.

I kept posting and e-mailing.

Did I want to throw up a little and slink away when I realized I had posted 52 times (!!!!!)—Yes, I sure did.

Collage of social media videos and images discussing trauma-informed care, trauma sensitivity, and healing.

I wanted to be a person who could share one sole photo of my hand with a tender fall leaf and have a program fill, but there I was sharing a billion reels and carousels and everything I thought people might need to know to decide whether Foundations was for them.

I heard the inner voice criticizing me (hypocrite! sellout! loser!) for posting so many times about trauma-informed care, which is not supposed to be overwhelming or fast-paced.

I kept posting anyway.

Because that’s what it took to reach the people meant to learn with me.

A smiling woman in a dark jacket and purple knit hat posing with her hands near her cheeks outdoors among fall-colored trees.

The class filled.

I strengthened my resolve to not be the problem when a launch isn’t working out.

To talk back to the voice that whispers to me that I’m a no-good sell-out.

“Have you ever heard of marketing?!” I ask the voice.

“Look it up!” 💅

I used to send 2 e-mails and make 3 posts and then say: “It’s not working!”

Now I keep working in case it will actually work, and spoiler: it usually does.

The work we do together in Safe To Be Seen will help you get the visibility your work needs. The world needs your work—please don’t give up.🩵

Safe To Be Seen is the place where you will build the capacity and skills to show up, be seen and sell out (but not like that)!

A young woman with short brown hair smiling and sitting on a wooden bench with one knee up, wearing a black patterned top and blue jeans, against a plain white background, with white flowers on the right side.

Bring your algorithm burnout and tender hope for ethical (and even fun!) marketing, and I will bring:

  • Over 7 years experience growing a successful, values-driven online business, with firsthand experience navigating visibility, congruence, and sustainable growth.

  • Certification in Somatic Experiencing®, blending deep nervous system expertise with practical business strategy.

  • A trauma-informed commitment to marketing that avoids harmful, manipulative tactics while still driving tangible results.

  • A “safe sandbox” where you can practice visibility skills in a low-risk environment before using them in higher-stakes contexts, which means you’ll leave with increased capacity.

Change won’t happen overnight, and it won’t happen with:

✖️ Business tactics that ignore your unique nervous system and neurodivergent differences.

✖️ Mindset and nervous system healing that ignore how the business landscape, humans and buyers have changed.

Change and growth happen over time with steady somatic and strategic support.

Here’s how Safe To Be Seen will help!

Safe To Be Seen School is a high-touch container for gifted healers and business owners who show up big for clients, but struggle to show up in their marketing.

Leaps and bounds of nervous system and business growth will happen through:

🪞 Twice monthly Somatic Coaching Circles—bring the places you feel scared, stuck and wobbly and we’ll explore using Somatic Experiencing and Trauma Sensitive Business Strategy. Whether you are sharing or listening, you will get something out of each group.

🕯️ Quarterly 1:1 Somatic Goal Setting Session with Jess, where we map your next 90 days at a pace your nervous system can actually hold, bring any business challenges that come up, and set your goal for the upcoming visibility season including how to support you along the way for the inevitable hiccups and curve balls that come your way.

📚 A growing bank of curriculum, with resources from all things visibility and marketing to trauma-informed business nuts and bolts to somatic and nervous system support. I love adding to our library, and a lot already exists! This is the go-to space for marketing templates, trauma-informed business best practices, somatic visibility practices, systems to support your growth, and answers to your questions in a pinch.

🍓 Slack space for connection, community and accountability. Connect with the other business owners and amazing humans in Seen! Share wins, share struggles, and be seen in your peaks and valleys. Cheer each other on as you grow towards your visibility and revenue goals!

Business visibility is challenging when:

🌀 The algorithm is ever-changing

⚡ The collective news cycle is loud and urgent

😬 We feel shaky about showing up

Safe To Be Seen will help you get the visibility your work deserves, in a way your body and values can sustain.

Here’s how.

This is not a basic boss-babe business offering!

In Safe To Be Seen:

You don’t have to choose between being ethical and being profitable.

This work pairs visibility expansion and marketing magic with ethical sales strategies and trauma-informed marketing practices so that you can finally post consistently in a way that doesn't feel icky or burn you out.

Business success isn’t just about showing up; it’s about showing up congruently.

So your marketing matches the magic you deliver to clients — and you feel good enough to keep selling, showing up consistently.

Nervous system capacity is a business skill.

When you feel safe enough to be seen, you can sell, market, and grow without burning out or repeating post-ghost, feast-famine cycles. So you get in front of dream clients who hire you faster and more easily than you've ever experienced before.

We know not everyone is safe to be truly seen.

In this space, we respect identities marginalized and oppressed by the overculture, and we hold ideas of “safety” and “visibility” with care, as they are politicized and privileged in this world and in business.

Our Safe To Be Seen live calls and community Slack space will follow group agreements designed to cultivate: dignity for all, no room for hate, asks before offering unsolicited advice, honoring identities and pronouns, and more trauma-informed and intersectional agreements as our group needs them. This is a relational space where we will fumble towards authentic connection. Along the way, misunderstandings and ruptures may occur, and we will navigate them to the best of our ability. No perfection needed, and no free passes either.

Because of our time together, you will be:

  • Showing up in marketing exactly as you are with clients; congruent, grounded, and real.

  • Booking new consults from content you actually enjoyed creating!

  • Confident enough in your client and customer channels that you are consistently welcoming new clients with more ease and less tech headaches.

  • Navigating feedback, low engagement, or “visibility hangovers” without disappearing for weeks.

  • Clear on a marketing plan (social media optional) that is sustainable and doable for your brain, capacity and business.

  • Reaching for nervous system practices that ground you when you start to wobble.

  • Able to clearly name which part(s) of your self and trauma history you want to make public, and which need to stay private. And you’ll know this won’t sacrifice sales; it will build consent and trust.

  • Feeling more available for reciprocal connection, and less braced for disconnection, rejection or misunderstanding when you say what you really mean.

  • “I have been a facilitator for years but it wasn’t until recently that I realized some of the terminology and the ways I was approaching things were getting under my own skin. If my job is to provide a safe and supportive space for others I knew I had to educate myself. I was absolutely dumbfounded at how simple and transformative the practices within the program were.”

Sara, Breathworker & Trauma Informed Student

  • "The SSP experience has been tender and open; a gentle space to land each week and spend intentional time tending to my nervous system. I relax and my breath deepens as I arrive into this unique space with an open invitation to find the experience I need that day with the music and the group, but no expectation to do so in a specific way."

    SSP Client

  • "My session with Jess was such a beautiful catalyst to further healing within myself: she gently supported me in realizing that part of being a trauma-informed massage therapist is creating the conditions where I, too, can feel safer and more present. This was just one of several lightbulb moments in our consultation, which really helped me get clarity on how I want to grow in my trauma-informed practices."

    Mel Meder, Massage Therapist

  • “Part of what I loved about the SSP was Jess’s invitation to show up exactly as we were. Just before SSP began, I experienced some trauma in a group setting and felt hesitant about the group dynamic of this process. I was able to show up completely nonverbal and in tears the first day, and felt warmth and welcomed in this experience."

    SSP Client, 1 of 2

  • "As the weeks progressed, I was able to connect outward more to other members of the group as my nervous system allowed, and even initiated conversations and cracked some jokes! The SSP was healing on multiple levels for me, and this group dynamic was just one slice of the pie.”

    SSP Client, 2/2

  • “I've already noticed that the way that I'm speaking with and writing to clients is indeed starting to shift for the better. And I feel good knowing that I have a solid toolkit for this work that I can continue to use as I grow my practice.”

Olivia LaBarre, Animal Communicator & Reiki Practitioner

  • “The guide is beautifully presented, easy to follow and has helped me personally and in my role as a youth worker. It has helped me to recognize thoughts and feelings on a much deeper level.”

Amanda T. on the Spiritual Bypassing Guide, It’s Not All Good

  • “It has helped me to gain a deeper understanding of spiritual bypassing and how to hold a safer container of space for others in my work.”
