softer ๐ฅ๏ธ ease into embodiment
because being in your body is healing and hard
Have you ever gotten a โ60 days to reset your nervous system!โ bundle, or joined a somatic workshop, but the practices didnโt work for you?
Maybe it goes a little something like:
๐ You try to do it and suddenly your chest is an escalator, your heart is running a marathon, and youโre panic attacking!
๐ You take the deep breaths and close your eyes but then youโre sinking deep into the dorsal and dissociated swampland, feeling glued and unable to move.
๐ The instructor gently asks โWhere do you feel that in your body?โ and you feel a whole lot of nothing! Numb. Nothing. Blank. And then you worry because you feel nothing. (Pssst: nothing is something, but weโll get to that.)
If these words resonate, you might want to join me for
๐ฅ๏ธ soft somatics ๐ฅ๏ธ.

If we havenโt met yet, Iโm Jess (she/they)!
Iโm a somatic practitioner who clawed and crawled my way back into my body after complex trauma and sexual assault.
And, after a lifelong pattern of disembodiment, fawning and nervous system shapeshifting that literally kept me alive. But also made my life kinda small. (Oops!)
Iโve been on this somatic journey for decades, and I have the letters after my name to prove it.
So far: LMT, SSP, and almost SEP! This means Iโm a Licensed Massage Therapist, a Safe & Sound Protocol Provider, and in September I complete my Somatic Experiencing Practitioner Certification!
Extensive trauma sensitive and trauma resolution studies, paired with my (not to brag!) extensive experiences being a client with a sensitive nervous system and reasons to come back to my body AND stay out prime me for this work.
I will guide you back to your body with care, and the knowledge that itโs not as easy as doing a body scan and โdropping inโ, and of course body connection doesnโt always feel safe. Of course we donโt always want to go towards the place where the pain lives.
This is why attuned support from someone who gets it deeply matters.
So whatโs ๐ฅ๏ธ soft somatics๐ฅ๏ธ?
๐ซ Itโs not a bunch of somatic practices and โnervous system hacksโ, because Instagram and TikTok are full of them. (And sometimes, full of it.)
๐โโ๏ธ Itโs a bunch of what-to-do when you canโt quite do the somatic practice.
And you feel like youโre broken. Youโre too brainy and numb. Something must be wrong with you.
But no, no and no, friend.
If you have a body, live in this world, and your nervous system has been through (or is going through) traumatic experiences, somatic and nervous system practices arenโt so simple.
You canโt โjustโ:
๐ฎโ๐จ Take a deep breath and relax.
๐ญ Connect emotions to body sensations.
๐ซจ Shake your limbs and the trauma unwinds.
But there is a lot you can do.
Especially when you:
๐ฆฅ Move at the pace of the nervous system and its slowest, scaredest impulse.
๐งธ Pick practices that fit the nervous system space (and headspace) you are in.
๐ฅจ Adapt and adjust the practices so they work for you. You donโt have to be a pretzel to fit the practices!
P.S. You are probably very good at contorting your needs to fit the space, the mood, the vibe, etc. And I bet that life gives you many chances to practice that.
Letโs work on new skills that will serve YOU more and honor your needs and capacity!
Hereโs whatโs waiting for you:
โฆ Nervous System Mapping Course [BONUS!]
Before you move towards a somatic practice or nervous system tool, itโs helpful to know whatโs happening in your nervous system. If you often feel panicky, dissociated, slumpy and depressed, or have some strange physical sensations going onโPolyvagal Nervous System mapping can unlock so much for you!
โฆ Paths and approaches to embodiment.
When you know what your nervous system is up to, and you begin to build a menu of supportive practices, you can play with how to approach a practice. If you donโt know when to focus on breathing vs. when counting all the green things in your room will help, this will help you!
lecture. You will be invited to play with trauma sensitive concepts and somatic practices, and notice what nourishes your own nervous system.
โฆ Comprehensive. Our live (and recorded) trainings paired with the training portal contain resources, trauma informed to-dos, and additional coursework to help you put trauma informed theory into practice. We canโt cover everything in 4 weeks, but I can offer you supportive materials to turn to while youโre doing the real work of stumbling through offering trauma sensitive care.
โฆ Trauma Informed. My intention is to hold a trauma informed space where your nervous system and capacity as honored. You are not my client, but you are not just a student. Some material is sensitive in nature, and will always be delivered thoughtfully and gently.

โI had such an enjoyable time learning from Jess! The group container had so many different variations of facilitators that it helped me see how parts of my business needed to be improved. The valuable insight of Jess on all things TIC has been helping me support my clientele for years and this foundational course was exactly what I needed to feel more supported in my standing on TIC and how to support others and myself. The teachings were simple and easy to digest but definitely will have a long lasting impact on everyone that I have the pleasure of working with.โ

DREAM WITH ME. WHAT IF . . .
You donโt need to be perfect. You need support at a nervous system level so you can weather client whoopsies and vulnerability hangovers from social media launches.
You donโt need to start over. You need trauma-informed methodologies and best practices to reference as you look at your practice with a fresh perspective and make small yet powerful shifts.
You donโt need to be small and quiet so you never cause harm. You need to practice discerning between care and fawning, practitioner-ing and people pleasing. You need deep care as you practice amending and accounting for inevitable harm.
You donโt need to do this alone or just try harder. You need a training that feels relatively safe for your nervous system. Encouragement to be client centered and you-centered, considering your capacities and needs. Youโre allowed!
